Archdiocesan Museum of Religious Art
Dedicated to the preservation of artistic and religious heritage, the Museum of Religious Art serves as a guardian of a solemn history. Each of the works housed there holds iconographic treasures that represent the clergy, the lifestyles of the friars who enriched Pamplona's culture—such as Father Rochereau—and the artists who infused their work with spirituality and served as educators in the new way of life for the local inhabitants.
Consequently, the building features a distinctly modern style, characterized by formal simplicity and functional clarity, designed to house works by renowned colonial-era painters such as Acero de la Cruz, the Pamplona-born artist Alfonso Hernández de Heredia, and the preeminent master of colonial painting, Gregorio Vázquez de Arce y Ceballos.
